The ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Card proves your identity, qualifications, and experience for working in the electrotechnical industry. Most employers require it to access building sites and electrical work areas.
To apply through ISCVE, you must first become a member. Then, complete the required HS&E and ESU Safety Assessments. Once eligible, submit your application and supporting documents for approval.
You must pass the ECS Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Assessment and the Electrotechnical Site Safety Unit (ESU) test. Your technical qualifications must match the ECS card category you are applying for.
To renew your ECS card, ensure your HS&E Assessment is valid (taken within the last 2 years) and that your membership is current. For lost cards, request a replacement using the official ECS process.
Once your application is approved and all documents are submitted, your ECS card is typically delivered within 5–10 working days.
